I have been teaching English and more for more then 30 years. I hold a TESOL certificate and have extensive experience teaching English as a Second Language in Latin America as well as online to to Japanese, Taiwanese, and other Asian professionals. I also was an ESL tutor in public elementary and high schools.  Additionally I home schooled my kids for a period of time as we traveled abroad. They are both now fluent in Spanish and French. My son taught himself Latin, Greek, French and more, received a Masters in Classics and is now a high school Latin teacher.

Having lived in Japan, Mexico, Spain, and South America, I bring a deep cultural perspective to my teaching.

With a background as a business reporter and a degree in journalism and a minor in Spanish, I am also an award-winning poet. Passionate about language and the written word, I weave English words with Latin, Greek and French roots into my teaching, bringing the language to life through culture, story and history.

I work in a conversation style, building on the client’s strengths and weaving in grammar lessons, reading and writing exercises as needed.
